7 May 2008The past few weeks have been the subject to some speculation about the nature of the new building kit. We received numerous e-mails with 'thoughts' and 'guesses' and some have even triggered us for possible future releases. A couple of days ago, the mystery was solved by Geoff Sullivan in the UK who, being an electronic engineer himself, has experimented a lot with his Enigma-E and his home-brew add-ons. The new kit is the UhrBox-E, the electronic equivalent of the Enigma Uhr introduced by the German Luftwaffe in 1944. A word of thanks goes to Frode Weierud in Switserland who has been a tremendous help in piecing the history of the Uhr together. Some of this information is already available from his website.
