Google launched its first branded smartphone – Google Nexus One - on January 5 with 3G support just for T-mobile network in the US and Vodafone in the UK. It retailed the Nexus One exclusively through its online store, which turned out to be mistake. Google apparently didn't anticipate serious support issues and went to the market without even a support phone line! Soon after its launch, Nexus One users reported problems connecting to T-Mobile's 3G network. Many were also not happy with its touch screen. The problems were eventually resolved through software upgrades. Faced with poor sales, Google stopped selling the Nexus One. This time around,

Gresso Luxor World Time Phone to Know When They Take Your Call

Thinking about those who have to talk to people all over the world and how they have to figure out the local time to place the call most conveniently, Gresso had a brainwave to design a new limited edition handset called the Luxor World Time allowing the owner to get the time in the greatest cities all over the world at a glance. The glance should be directed at the back of the handset where six Swiss clocks are placed, showing the current time of the five most important business centers: New York, London, Tokyo, Paris and Moscow. The sixth timepiece is left to the owner to set the time for the place he or she requires. The clockwork mechanisms are embedded in a durable case made from ceramic-coated light titanium alloy; the faces of the clocks are decorated with 97-carat sapphire crystals and the screens are gloss-coated. The clocks are powered for a 10-year continuous service. The front panel of the new Gresso carries a steel PVD-coated bezel, and the back panel sports a patch

DJ Pauly D Headphones for Sporting Jersey Shore Style

Getting a pair of headphones – an exact replica of those worn by Jersey Shore’s DJ Pauly D in real life – may be just getting another pair of headphones, for they are not so visually striking, and if you intend to put yourself out Jersey Shore styled, you will probably have to add a lot more other stuff. On the other shore – sorry, hand – they look quite professional and unpretentious, so much so that you may even spend a second and a half wondering who they carry the Pauly D inscription… Anyhow, those TV guys are finding their way onto gadget and accessory market, and here is a Jersey Shore treat for those who like it for $19.99.

Aqua Touchscreen Cell Phone That Looks Like a Small Pool of Water

Having a transparent cell phone – you read right, a real see-through gadget – may seem disconcerting for some or highly amusing for others, but there’s no doubt that the idea is an engaging one and titillating in some strange fashion. Turning a customary solid cell phone into what to all intents and purposes looks like a water puddle is the brain child of South Korean designer Bon Seop Ku . Whether Bon Seop Ku was inspired by Salvador Dali’s liquid clock faces or has just spilled his tea on the table inadvertently, there it is: a Samsung “AQUA” mobile friend that produces the impression of disintegrating into drops under your touch… which it won’t. The “AQUA” is an ultra slim transparent handset with a water-based touchscreen and AMOLED display that can be cleared of icons by hand – you just rub them off. Of course the “AQUA” is eco-friendly, powered by a liquid battery (small wonder!). It may be too difficult to spot it if you have a habit of strewing your cell phones a

Dr Dree Beats For Music Fashionistas

For all those music fashionistas, Dr Dre Beats are going to be an ultimate treat for they are now becoming fashion status symbols, for some sound purists it is in-the-ear, stage monitor-style headphones like these that deliver the best audiophile experience. Based on Shure's eye-wateringly expensive flagship SE530s, these may feature only single drivers as opposed to their bigger brother's three, but there's not much to separate the SE315s in terms of fidelity. Covering a frequency range of 22Hz-18.5 kHz , they fit snugly for excellent noise isolation. The buds also detach from the cables, which means a break won’t cost a fortune as you’ll only need to replace the cable. At this price you might expect play controls and a hands-free mic, but only a few headphones deliver this level of precision.

MacBook Air: Apple Steals a March Over Rivals

Apple's MacBook Air is a bold plunge into fresh new waters that rival computer makers have wasted time just wetting their feet in. Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the MacBook Air on October 20, terming it the "future of notebooks," something his rivals will also be forced to concede. The MacBook Air takes inspiration from Apple's hugely successful iPad and builds on the solid foundation of the company's MacBook ecosystem. "We asked ourselves what would happen if a MacBook and an iPad hooked up? Well, this is the result," Jobs said at a media event in Cupertino, California. Features Featuring solid state storage only, the MacBook Air can be turned on instantly, weighs a lot less than notebooks with conventional spinning disks, makes hard disk crashes history, and is very energy efficient, giving up to seven hours of battery life with wireless networking and up to 30 days of standby time. Energy efficient Intel Core 2 Duo processor and NVI

HP Slate 500: Windows 7 PC in Tablet Form Factor

The HP Slate 500 - roughly a netbook PC with solid state storage and tablet form factor - targets business and enterprise, not content consuming individuals. It addresses the needs of a market segment that Apple with its iPad and Samsung with its Galaxy Tab cannot hope to penetrate. Business and enterprise customers - retail, healthcare, insurance, education and hospitality - have as much need for mobility as individual, so a Windows 7 powered tablet that can do all that a PC can do makes a lot of sense, especially if it weighs a mere 1.5 lb (0.68 kg). The Slate 500 features an 8.9-inch capacitive multi-touch 1,024x600 display that lets you navigate on the screen with the touch of a finger, but since Windows 7 is not honed for finger touch, it comes with an included Digital Pen and Evernote software to handwrite e-mail messages and take notes easily. A front facing VGA webcam facilitates video conferencing, while the 3MP camera on the back can be used for still-image and

LG Drops Froyo Tablet Plans

LG Electronics has dropped plans for an Android 2.2 Froyo based tablet computer on advice from Google which says the OS isn't optimized for powering tablet computers. "We plan to introduce a tablet that runs on the most reliable Android version ... We are in talks with Google to decide on the most suitable version for our tablet and that is not Froyo 2.2," an LG official, who declined to be named, said on Monday, October 4. [via Reuters] LG is the third largest mobile phone maker in the world but is struggling to get a toe hold in the lucrative and booming smartphone and tablet market. The company recently launched its Optimus One Android 2.2 powered smartphone in Korea; it plans to eventually sell the Optimus One through 120 carriers world wide. The decision to drop the Froyo based tablet computer indicates the company is opting to be cautious even at the risk of losing an opportunity in the tablet market.

Microsoft Confirms Windows Phone 7 Launch

Microsoft has scheduled the worldwide launch of Windows Phone 7, its new smartphone OS, in New York on October 11 at 3:30PM EST The launch event has been posted on the Microsoft website and surprisingly its agenda includes "an exclusive showing of T-Mobile powered Windows Phone 7 devices." While the launch date of the OS comes as no surprise, having been widely reported earlier, the inclusion of T-Mobile in the launch event wasn't expected. It was believed AT&T would be the sole initial Network provider for Windows Phone 7 devices. To begin with, Phone 7 OS will support GSM networks only. AT&T and T-Mobile both have GSM networks in the US so the launch of Phone 7 devices on both networks is logical.

Verbatim Gets It All Together with Clip-it USB Drive

Main documents with general information printed out for a quick once-over, and all the detailed stuff, video presentations and auxiliary information like enhanced electronic business cards (that may add up to a very bulky envelope if carried on paper) are clipped on on a USB drive for a careful perusal on your PC. That is the idea behind the new Verbatim Store n’Go Clip-it USB Drive that can work as an eye-catching and handy paper clip at the same time. After it has been with us for a while it may turn out, of course, that the only document that really needs printing is the list of materials stored on the Clip-it, but we’ll have to run off a couple more documents for the new drive not to look a bit out of place. Anyhow – as soon as we get the complete information on the price and availability – it looks good enough to give it a try. Verbatim Store n’Go Clip-it USB Drive is offered in seven bright colors and 2 or 4GB capacities.

Alarm Clock to Bug You out of Sleep and Make You Do Morning Workout

This alarm clock , or, to give it its proper name, the Aphelion clock concept , does not simply snooze you awake – this bright gadget knows that chances are you go down again – but gets you out of your bed and on your feet playing ball . How does the Aphelion bedside friend achieve this feat? It catapults a ball at the pre-set time, and there is no peace for you until you retrieve the ball and replace it into the holder to kill the snooze. Other features are hardly worth mentioning – a built-in MP3 player and radio, a digital display with the time read clearly – but the ball thing can bring out an inventor in you, placing the alarm-clock to aim the ball at your prone self, towards a far corner of the room where you will have to search for it waking completely in the process, or at a glass of water that will topple and treat you to a small shower to ensure your waking up properly. With all those terrifying possibilities the Aphelion concept may not find a manufacturer

Microsoft is confident that despite its late entry, Windows Phone 7 OS will be ranked amidst market leaders like iOS-4, Android and BlackBerry. Windows Phone 7 devices will feature the following minimum hardware:
