Solar Power House Kit

Build & Experiment with a Model Alternative-Energy House
Power House: Experiments in Future Techniques provides an engaging introduction to regenerative energy sources while learning basic concepts and principles in physical science. The kit focuses on the heat and light energy from the sun, the energy from the wind, as well as with electrochemical and plant energy. You will learn how to transform and use these forms of energy.
With this Thames & Kosmos Power House kit you can build a model house complete with solar panels, windmill, greenhouse, and desalination system. You can build and operate an electric train, windmill, solar cooker, solar hot water tank, hygrometer, electric motor, power hoist, sail car, and more! Plant watercress, prepare sauerkraut, and make chewing gum. Learn how plants convert sunlight into energy for your body and your engines.
The thoughtfully designed series of experiments were developed by physicist Uwe Wandrey. Professor Wandrey creatively integrates physical science and technology lessons with the adventure of building a home and living on a remote island. To survive, you must learn how to harness the power of the sun and the wind as well as tap the energy of other physical forces. The storyline follows the experiments in a stepwise fashion. Easy-to-follow activities make it fun to build models and use them for your experiments.
Ages 12 and up, soldering is not required.
Personal note: This is by far one of the best put together packages we have ever seen. Items like this will hopefully inspire our future generations to design and build energy efficient homes. Great for Birthdays, Summer Camp Projects, Boy Scouts and more.

Katy Perry for GHD Hairdryers

Katy Perry for GHD Hairdryers Katy Perry continues working with the producers of GHD hair dryers and GHD hair care products: the singer once again demonstrated her luxurious hair in a fresh advertising campaign – this time she had the image of a diva from “the golden Hollywood” era (the pop-diva had already had the image of a hippie, a disco girl, and a mermaid). Luxurious dresses, bright makeup and a small portion of theatricality – one can immediately see that she is a star! The shooting was run by Ellen von Unwerth, who preferred to focus on restrained sensuality and the interplay of tones rather than on bright colors (the latter are always excessive with Katy) and presented black-and-white portraits of Perry to the public. The girl really looks perfect in the pictures : whether she is playing chess, recovering after a tiring concert or just getting ready to appear on stage. But whose merit is this: that of the photographer, the heroine, or maybe Photoshop?
