Hair with Straighteners

With hair straightening taking women all over by storm straighteners have become an essential item in a girl’s beauty box. The hair straightener looks like a pair of flat tongs, each having a heating element within. All you had to do is place your hair between the heated tongs and pull along till the end of the hair shaft, and voila! Ramrod straight locks.

A lot of changes have taken place in hair straighteners. Gone are the days of big, ugly lumps of metal and plastic which weigh a ton, now it is all about sleek, simple designs which don't scorch your hair. The biggest step towards the now near perfect hair straighteners we have today is the invention of "ceramic plates". These cause a lot less damage to hair than their metal counterparts and they also straighten more effectively, and heat up more quickly.

Another huge advance in technology is the use of ionic and infra red technology in straightening irons. Whereas the old style straighteners dried your hair out, leaving it straight and a bit frizzy and frazzled looking, nowadays straighteners claim to actually lock in moisture and reduce frizz. The smaller designs also allow you to straighten the hair closer to your head so you don't end up with really big hair.

But before you purchase a hair straightener for your hair there are some points to be considered. First of all never go for a cheap hair straightener as they wear off too quickly after a few usages and after that they cause a lot of damage to your hair instead of giving it a gorgeous sleek look. Secondly you should not go for the cheap tourmaline irons also as the layer of tourmaline plates are so thin that they wear off too easily after a few usages. Always go for some branded or renowned brands of hair irons like Sodu, GHD or CHI. The price range of these brands are quite reasonable as well as they provide protection for your hair along with some of their own special functional features. Working with these products is much easier and safer. They heat up quite fast and with the special feature of auto temperature adjustment there is lesser risk of overheated or burnt hair.
