Motorola is reportedly set to announce a new smartphone that will compete with Apple iPhone 4 and HTC EVO 4G.
The Android 2.1 device, powered by a 1GHz ARMv7 chipset will be announced at a company event on June 23, one day before the launch of iPhone 4.
Like the EVO, Droid X features a 4.3" display that is considerably larger than iPhone 4's 3.5" display.
The device has been previewed by Endgadget which reports that the 854x480 FWVGA resolution display of the device is sharp and its capacitive screen responsive to multi-touch.
A new version of Motorola Blur serves as the interface, and is reported to be a distinct improvement over the earlier version.
Data entry defaults to Swype, which allows you to type without lifting your finger, but there is a multi-touch keyboard like in the iPAD.
Droid X features an 8 MP camera that can record video at 720p.
