CTL Shipping SL10 2goPad Atom Powered, Windows 7 Tablet

CTL has started shipping its 10-inch Windows 7 slate - 2goPad SL10 - with an Intel Atom N450 processor, 2GB memory, and 250GB SATA HDD.

Impressive Spec

The tablet features a rotating swivel capacitive multi-touch screen display with 1024x600 resolution.

It has 1.3 megapixel video camera to let you participate in a video conference, or simply chat with your friends face-to-face.

It comes with an Adobe Flash video player, HTML5 compatibility, and a built-in eReader.

Fully Functional PC

The 2goPC SL10 is a fully functional PC in a tablet form factor. It allows you to work in multiple programs at once to maximize your productivity. It can run the millions of Windows applications available worldwide.

Who needs an app store, when you have access to the entire catalog of Microsoft Windows applications, says the SL10 product page on the CTL website.

Its ports are no different from what you would find on your PC:

Bluetooth
2 Audio Jacks: Microphone-in, Speaker Out
2 USB Ports
Mini VGA Output with Adapter
1 RJ45 Ethernet (10/100)
Micro SD Card Reader

The SL10 is the first real option for millions of users worldwide who want to protect their past investments in Microsoft Windows, but yearn for a tablet form factor device.

Weight Disappoints

The 10.3" x 6.6" x 0.72" sized device disappoints with its 2.6 lb weight. The combination of Atom processors and Windows OS is not known to be the most power efficient, which is why other manufacturers have relied on Android OS and ARM Cortex A8 based chipsets from Qualcomm and TI.

Besides its power efficient chipset and the more demanding OS, the SL10 also needs to keep its SATA HDD spinning, something that requires a lot more power than a 32 Gb SDC.

It is likely the SL10 features a much larger and heavier battery than Android based tablets. It is certainly not a device you can easily slip into your coat pocket.

The base price of the device is $499.

Katy Perry for GHD Hairdryers

Katy Perry for GHD Hairdryers Katy Perry continues working with the producers of GHD hair dryers and GHD hair care products: the singer once again demonstrated her luxurious hair in a fresh advertising campaign – this time she had the image of a diva from “the golden Hollywood” era (the pop-diva had already had the image of a hippie, a disco girl, and a mermaid). Luxurious dresses, bright makeup and a small portion of theatricality – one can immediately see that she is a star! The shooting was run by Ellen von Unwerth, who preferred to focus on restrained sensuality and the interplay of tones rather than on bright colors (the latter are always excessive with Katy) and presented black-and-white portraits of Perry to the public. The girl really looks perfect in the pictures : whether she is playing chess, recovering after a tiring concert or just getting ready to appear on stage. But whose merit is this: that of the photographer, the heroine, or maybe Photoshop?
