Microsoft has scheduled the worldwide launch of Windows Phone 7, its new smartphone OS, in New York on October 11 at 3:30PM EST
The launch event has been posted on the Microsoft website and surprisingly its agenda includes "an exclusive showing of T-Mobile powered Windows Phone 7 devices."
While the launch date of the OS comes as no surprise, having been widely reported earlier, the inclusion of T-Mobile in the launch event wasn't expected. It was believed AT&T would be the sole initial Network provider for Windows Phone 7 devices.
To begin with, Phone 7 OS will support GSM networks only. AT&T and T-Mobile both have GSM networks in the US so the launch of Phone 7 devices on both networks is logical.
