Samsung Announces Wi-Fi tethered SH100 camera

The Wi-Fi enabled SH100 features a 14.2 Megapixel, 1/2.33" (Approx. 7.76mm) CCD image sensor, f4.7-23.5mm, F26 – 130mm (35mm equivalent) lens with image stabilization, 3-inch touch-screen LCD and 720p HD video.

The SH100 can connect to your Android powered Galaxy S smartphone letting you remotely control the camera. You can view the shot you're about to take in real time on your phone. If you're not happy with it, you can zoom in and out to get the best picture, and then activate the shutter remotely when you're ready to pose.

The feature is particularly useful for composing group photos from within the group being photographed.

Users can use their phone's GPS to geotag their photos.

The SH100's built in Wi-Fi can also automatically back up your shots to your PC by only pushing two buttons, or by using DLNA to wirelessly connect to your HDTV and see your photos and videos right away.

You can upload your photos instantly over WiFi to social networking sites such as Facebook, Picasa or Photo Bucket, or email them to individual email addresses straight from the camera.

You can also record HD video and share your favorite moments over sites such as YouTube. To make the upload process of large files easier and quicker, the SH100 includes an account with mobile hotspot provider Boingo, giving you access to over 200,000 Wi-Fi hotspots worldwide.

The camera features a touch based smartphone like user interface (UI).

The SH100 will be available in March priced at $200.
