Samsung reportedly plans to launch two versions of it upcoming Galaxy S II smartphone, with differing dual core processors.
According to Taiwan based Digitimes, Samsung is expected to launch two versions of its Galaxy S II, one powered by its in-house Exynos 4210 system-on-a-chip (SoC) and the and the other by a Nvidia's Tegra 2 CPU.
Exynos 4210 uses the Cortex A9 dual core, which is 25% DMIPS faster than the Cortex A8 core.
Recently a Samsung employee revealed on Samsung's Estonia Facebook page that the new device will be powered by Samsungs 1Ghz dual-core Cortex A9 processor running at 1.2GHz.
Samsung's Galaxy S2 is the successor to it Galaxy S smartphone launched in 2010. Powered by Android 2.3, the Galaxy S II features a Super AMOLED Plus screen measuring 4.3 inches, the largest Samsung's ever put in a phone, ultra-slim 8.49mm form factor, voice control, and, optionally, NFC.
According to Reuters, Samsung will launch the Galaxy S II in South Korea in April through KT Corp.
