iPhone 5 could feature a curved glass, going by reports that Apple has been purchasing glass cutting machines to mitigate reluctance on part of cover glass makers to invest in the machines because of high capital costs.
According to Taiwan based Digitimes, apple has purchased 200-300 glass cutting machines for use by glass makers.
However, Apple is still holding back volume production in order to first improve yields when manufacturing curved class.
Reuters earlier reported, quoting sources, that iPhone 5 will debut in September, with volume production starting in July.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone 4 at Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference in San Francisco on June 7, 2010, with over 100 new features.
The iPhone 5 will launch with, at the very least, a new processor, and perhaps a curved glass.
