Samsung confirmed on Monday at the Google I/O that its Galaxy Tab 10.1 Android 3.0 Honeycomb will release on June 8
Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab 10.1, along the Galaxy Tab 8.9, on March 22 at the International CTIA conference in Orlando, Florida. Both tablets use Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system.
During the CTIA conference, Samsung showed a working model of just the Galaxy Tab 8.9.
On Monday at the Google I/O Samsung displayed a fully functional Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Speaking at the event, Samsung officials reportedly told Into Mobile that the company will release a Wi-Fi version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 priced at $399, the same price as the Eee Pad Transformer.
The GALAXY Tab 10.1 is powered by a 1 GHz dual core application processor. It features a WXGA TFT LCD display (1280 x 800) display, is 8.6mm thin and weighs only 595g.
The device is honed for sharing and enjoying media content with family and friends. It has surround-sound stereo speakers and support for Flash 10.2.
The device will support HSPA network speeds of up to 21Mbps as well as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity.
