A functional Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has surfaced and a hands-on video has been posted on YouTube.
Samsung announced its Galaxy Tab 8.9 along with the Galaxy Tab 10.1 on March 22 at the International CTIA conference in Orlando, Florida. Both the tablets use Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system.
Just 8.5mm thick, they were claimed to be the world's thinnest mobile tablets.
The Galaxy Tab 8.9 displayed at CTIA was a dummy.
The Galaxy Tab 8.9 weighs in at 470 grams and features a 6000 mAh battery. It is powered by a 1GHz dual core application processor and feature 1280x800 screen resolution, 3.0 MP Rear camera with AF LED Flash, 2.0 MP Front camera, 1080p Full HD video playback @ 30fps and 720p HD Video recording.
The device supports HSPA+ network speeds of up to 21Mbps as well as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity.
A Wi-Fi only version of the device is also expected.
The tablet comes with microSD slot, 3.5mm headphone jack, and SIM slot
You can choose from 16G / 32G / 64G of internal memory expandable by 32 GB using a microSD card.
