The Nikon Coolpix P7100 is an evolutionary update to the P7000 high end compact zoom released in September 2010.
The P7100 replaces the P7000 as Nikon's flagship Coolpix camera.
The improvements include:
A tiltable 3-in, approx 921k-dot, wide viewing angle TFT LCD monitor that can go 81-deg down and 105-deg up.
HD 720p video recording.
A new command dial on the front.
In addition, the new flagship camera eliminates the interface bugs of the P7000.
The lens (NIKKOR 28-200mm 35mm equiv, f2.8-5.6) , sensor (1/1.7-in, CCD, 10.1 MP, 100-6400 ISO) and optical viewfinder remain the same.
The P7100 will ship in September, for $500.
