The Asus Eee Pad Transformer 2 could become reality by November 7 with specs befitting its lineage; its predecessor being one of the few Android tablets to have been considered a possible iPad competitor.
A listing has appeared on LambdaTek Component Shop website for Asus TF201-1I020A tablet with NVIDIA quad-core Tegra 3 (Kal-el) processors, 32GB RAM and a 10.1-in display.
The site gives the in-stock date for the tablet, believed to be the Eee Pad Transformer 2, as November 7.
Priced at £448.21 without VAT, the tablet is surprisingly listed as featuring Android 3.x, not Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0), the latest iteration of the OS, optimized for both Tablets and smartphones.
Asus CEO Jerry Shen recently said the Transformer 2 will launch by year-end and retail for $499.
The Eee Pad Transformer stood out in the crowded Android tablet market by featuring an optional keyboard dock.
The Transformer is currently selling on Amazon.com for $390, with the keyboard and dock costing an additional $106.
