The 16.1 MP APS-C CMOS sensor is teamed with an improved image processors that extends sensitivity to an ISO 100-16000 range.
Like all Alpha A-mount cameras, the A37 features image stabilization that cuts the effects of camera shake by up to 4.0 stops.
The A37 comes with a 1440k dot electronic viewfinder (EVF) with excellent contrast and 100% field of view that is claimed to match or exceeds the abilities of many optical viewfinders.
Adjustments to exposure and other creative picture settings can be previewed in real time, either using the EVF or the tilt-angle 6.7 cm (2.7") LCD screen.
A Portrait Framing feature detects the subject and trims the scene around the subject's face using the rule of thirds, creating a beautifully composed portrait.

The A37 will be available this June with an 18-55mm kit zoom lens (model SEL1855) for about $600.
