Samsung ATIV S Windows Phone 8 Smartphone |
Samsung announced the ATIV S, the world's first Windows Phone 8 smartphone, at the IFA conference in Berlin on Wednesday, August 29, 2012.
Powered by a dual-core Qualcomm processor, the device features a 4.8-in HD Super AMOLED display, 1 Gb RAM, 16/32GB User memory and microSD (SDXC support).
It supports HSPA+42 connectivity, has a rear facing 8 MP main camera with autofocus and LED flash; and a 1.9MP front-facing camera.
Measuring 137.2 x 70.5 x 8.7 mm, the ATIV S weighs 135g and packs a 2,300mAh Li-ion battery.
Impressive Design
Despite being impressively slim, the ATIV S is comfortable to hold thanks to a bezel that bulges out slightly and then tapers more acutely to the back. The design allow your fingers to stay off the screen when you are holding the device in your hand.Other standout design features include a raised physical Windows button to get to your Start screen, instead of a capacitive one. The display glass has slightly rounded edges and the speaker bar on the front and the back, as well as all of the buttons, are aluminum, not plastic.
